How the job runs
Good trenching is measured twice and cut once. Depths, falls and line matter more here than on any other excavation work, because the pipe either works or it does not.
- Confirm the plan with your plumber, drainer or electrician: depth, diameter, route and inspection points.
- Compact backfill in layers so the surface does not sink six months later.
- String-line the route so the trench stays straight instead of wandering.
- Cut to depth with laser checks as we go, watching for services along the way.
- Leave the trench open for inspection if your trade needs it, or bed, lay-ready and backfill once signed off.

Problems we plan around
Backfill that sinks. Uncompacted backfill settles and leaves a trench-shaped dip across your yard. We compact in layers, which takes longer and saves the re-do.
Wrong fall. Water that sits in a pipe breeds smells and blockages. Laser-set falls mean the line drains the way it was designed to.
Sliced conduits. Every established suburb has unmarked services. Hand expose anything uncertain before the bucket reaches it.
Open trenches and safety. An open trench is a hazard for kids, pets and deliveries. We barrier it, and backfill promptly once inspections pass.
Common questions
Do I need a plumber before you trench?
For sewer and stormwater, yes: the plumber designs the line and books inspections, we cut, backfill and compact around their program.
Can you trench through my existing concrete?
Yes, we saw-cut neat edges and break out only the strip needed, so reinstatement is a simple pour rather than a new driveway.
How deep can you go?
Our machines comfortably handle residential depths: house sewer lines, stormwater and conduits are routine. Deeper council mains work is a different category we will tell you honestly about.
What if you hit rock mid-trench?
Shale shows up across Western Sydney without warning. We carry a breaker attachment, and the quote explains how rock time is charged before we start, so nothing lands as a surprise.
