How the job runs
A site cut looks simple from the fence, but the order things happen in decides whether the pad is right or has to be re-done. Here is how we run one.
- Walk the block with you and confirm where the cut sits against boundaries, existing levels and any fall across the land.
- Load out spoil as we go so you are not left with a mountain to deal with later.
- Agree the finished level in writing: builder setout, your shed plan, or a level we mark ourselves.
- Trim and final-check the pad, then walk it with you before we leave.
- Cut in layers rather than one big bite, checking levels with a laser as each layer comes off.
Types of jobs we take
House pads
Full blocks cut back to buildable level, benched where the fall demands it, ready for the slab crew.
Shed and workshop pads
Level pads for sheds, garages and farm workshops, including boxing out for slabs.
Driveway cuts
Cutting driveways into slopes so cars can actually get up them, edges boxed ready for concrete.
Tank pads and slab boxes
Flat, compacted pads for water tanks and trimmed boxes for on-ground slabs.
Re-cutting botched pads
Fixing pads another operator left out of level, which we see more often than we should.
Problems we plan around
Hidden fill. Old blocks around Western Sydney are full of unrecorded fill. If the machine starts finding brick, timber or soft patches, we stop, flag it and re-quote before it becomes your problem.
Boundary creep. Cuts that drift over the boundary cause disputes that cost far more than the dig. We set out from your pegs, not by eye.
Water sitting on the pad. A dead-flat pad in a sloping street collects water. We cut falls into the pad so stormwater runs where it should.
Spoil nobody planned for. Every cut makes more dirt than people expect. Our quotes include cartage so the pile does not sit there for months.
Common questions
How do I know what level my cut should be at?
If you have a builder, they set it. If not, bring us your shed or slab plans, or we will mark a sensible level based on the fall of the block and show you before cutting starts.
Will you need to come onto my neighbour's place?
Almost never. We set out within your boundaries. If access genuinely requires crossing a neighbour's land we tell you first so you can arrange it.
What happens to all the dirt?
It goes on our trucks to a licensed tip or clean-fill site. Cartage and disposal are in the quote, so there is nothing extra to pay later.
Can you cut in stages while my build progresses?
Yes. Estate builds often need the pad early and driveway prep months later. We can book both stages now and price them together.
