How the job runs
Post holes sound trivial until you count forty of them through clay. Machine auger work is about consistent diameter, plumb holes and tidy spoil, repeated all day.
- Keep spoil in neat windrows beside the line, or load it out if you prefer it gone.
- Leave holes ready for steel and concrete, covered and safe overnight if the pour is next day.
- Drill to diameter and depth with the auger, cleaning the base of each hole.
- Check ground conditions and locate services along the line before drilling starts.
- Mark out hole positions from your plans or string-lines for fence runs.

Problems we plan around
Bellied holes. Hand-dug holes wander wider and off-line, wasting concrete. Augered holes stay round and plumb.
Clay collapse. Wet Western Sydney clay squeezes fresh holes overnight. We drill and advise pouring the same day or sleeve the hole.
Hidden rock shelf. Sandstone ridges stop augers dead. We flag it, switch to the breaker where it is shallow, and re-quote honestly where it is not.
Hit services. Fence lines love to cross old conduit and irrigation. Locating first costs minutes; repairing a sliced line costs your weekend.
Common questions
What diameters can you drill?
200mm to 450mm as standard with our auger drives. Larger piers are possible with notice; tell us the engineering spec first.
How deep can you go?
Residential pier and post depths are routine, typically up to 1.8 metres depending on ground and machine position.
Do you supply the concrete too?
We can drill-and-place as a package with your supplier, or leave holes open for your own concreter. Either way, say which when you book.
What if a hole hits rock?
You hear about it immediately with options and pricing, not afterwards on an invoice. Shallow rock often breaks out quickly; solid shelves change the method.
